NEW PAINTING! SECOND IN THE SERIES

This painting is the destination of the animals from My World. At this posting, the painting isn't done. But I worked mighty hard on the Persian rug pattern in reds. It's perhaps Heaven. Soon I'll put the completed piece on. Thanks,
Jeanine, comments please?

I'm waiting for my newest painting to show up on my blog, so I can show you the process of doing a tryptich that's turned into a quintich. Hang in there. I'll be there. Thanks, Jeanine

A NEW YEAR OF ART!

Hello from my blog up in the northwoods of Wisconsin. Lac du Flambeau. At last I am learning more about BLOGGING! We are covered with deep snow and an eerie stillness. The snow must be a buffer or something. Wow, it is gorgeous.

We now live in this beauty permanently, no more returning to southern Wisconsin. This is where creativity abounds, where people return to because they love it here. I am part of the art community in a deeper committed way, and it is fun. My home/studio will be on the great Northwoods Art Tour, in summer and fall of 2011. I go to art functions and shows. Students come to my studio and are opening up to the joy of painting.

I have very small classes that break down art fears and bring out the personal soul with laughter and surprise imagery. One lady does swamp land/waterscapes. Another is a Paul Klee and Miro look-alike and insists on painting "her way". Another does East Indian women! They all surprise themselves with their newly discovered talent. Of course, I know it is in everyone. And art heals the artist. As a group I know there's more energy/power than when we're each alone.

Let's talk about my latest painting, inspired by an Aborginal show at the Seattle Art Museum my daughter Betsy and I visited last spring. I love Aboriginal art and I decided to begin with a band of their art, through my eyes, of course.

(The painting, "My Worlds" shown above on BLOG and my website: jeaninesdream.com) I added my own varied subject matter, the sky, the forest, water and dolphins, the sun, the moon and a cloud-aura of gold. There are 4-leggeds surrounded with a Persian landscape. And the whole thing has a border with my favorite color scheme, gold and cerulean blue. I worked a long time on this piece and am pretty happy with it. Along the way there were many tryers of color combinations that needed redoing. A sponge is a trusty friend.

Now I am working on a spin-off of 4 more paintings from that initial painting. It will be a triptych plus an extra image coming in from the right and another leaving on the left. Five paintings in all. I intend to photograph the present paintings while I progress on them. Don't figure too fast. I make a lot of mistakes and have to redo, with heated language along the way. You can watch and comment. My goal is to do a filming of the paintings with comments from my friends. And to exhibit the group of fine places.

So watch for painting 2, 3, 4, and 5. And suggest where I can show them. Because they'll be out there.

Anyone interested in starting into the world of art, email me, you'll come to my house (or bring me into your existing group) and I'll get you going. I promise, art will carry you all your days.

Thanks (there's more energy in gratitude statements than in love statements), so I always sign with THANKS!

And if anyone wants to laugh hard, look up my daughter Betsy Semon Kauffman standup on Youtube.com She is a standup comic and we never tire of watching her.

Anyone want to film for me and interview about my art?

Thanks,
Jeanine Semon, an Artist who is here for you.
